You're Invited!

set.jpg

To celebrate my 6th month wedding anniversary, I would like to invite my readers to a week filled with planning tips inspired by my year and a half wedding planning journey (ahhh, what a blissful time that was!). Please visit Modern Vintage next week for in-depth details of all my favorite planning moments, resources, vendors, diy projects and all the ups and downs in between.

For now, check out my invitation suite designed by Cheree Berry, choice designer for Today Throws a Martha Stewart Wedding.

For my Deco-NYC wedding, Cheree designed my save-the-dates using a silhouette of Lady Liberty as the main motif. Since this is a design heavy in ink, we opted for flat print and kept it to a single color. We incorporated our other wedding color by lining our envelopes with a sweet stripe design.

For my invitations, the main motif is a cross-street sign (instead of numbering my tables we used cross streets to designate them - more on this next week!). One of the signs had our initials and the other, the wedding date. We also found a really cute taxi image and used it in our return address design. Again, to cut cost, we did a one color letterpress design on extra thick stock and inked the edge of the invitation with our other color (see below). We lined the envelopes with solid silver metallic paper to create a more formal feel.

Inspired by an rsvp card I saw in a Martha Stewart magazine, we asked our guests to reply whether they would attend "in body" or "in spirit." We had a lot of replies where both options were checked off.

I truly loved my invitation suite - it set the perfect tone for what my wedding was going to be like and Cheree was a delight to work with. Please check out her site for some other beautiful examples and visit www.redstamp.com to purchase some of her equally gorgeous custom stationery.

For a complete feel of my wedding stationery, have a peek at my poster programs as well as the stamps I've designed!
