Whimsical Popups

il_430xN.19998602.jpg

This Etsy Friday, I am so happy to feature Crankbunny's nostalgic and enchanting popup cards. There is just something about the Alice in Wonderlandesque artwork that  strums the heartstrings of my happy inner-child. Don't get me wrong, though appropriate for children, these popups are definitely for grown-ups. The saturated colors remind me of old fairy tale books I so cherished as a child and the sophistication of the construction creates that beautiful surprise that popups are all about.

They are so divine, I just want to come up with ways to use them for everything. Wouldn't it be so lovely to place these peacock cards on top of your place setting with your guests' names written on the egg? Decorate your table top with feathers, topiaries and planters filled with moss balls to complete the look. Or perhaps you can send these cards out in lieu of traditional invitations and hand write your event's information on them - that's right, go old-school. Try throwing them in a gift bag with some homebaked goods - the only catch is, the card will probably out do the favor itself! Never before have greeting cards made me want to write a "just because" note to a friend or family member as these lovelies do. So check out Crankbunny's Etsy shop and find a reason to stock up your greeting card stash.

Wow, those cards are so lovely... But I have another experience with those cards. People I know only put such cards into a drawer... I like such cards on a cork wall billboard. I personally have them there and it looks nice.
