Sweettart
Thursday, April 17, 2008 at 10:34AM Tired of cupcakes (most likely not...but let's just say you are)? Sick of chocolate favors? Not feeling Jordan Almonds? Check out NYC's sweet shop Three Tarts for some novel treats that are not only delicious but sweet on the eyes as well.
Some of my favorites include their Jewel Box desserts - a stunning square of gelee-topped panna cotta in three flavors, Espresso gelee and almond panna cotta, Pomegranate gelee and coconut panna cotta (pictured left), and Blood Orange and goat cheese panna cotta (pictured right). At only $15 for a box of 6, these are sure to make great favors at your next NYC soiree (unfortunately these treats are only available in New York).
Not in the Big Apple? Have no fear, most of the treats this dessert shop offers are available to ship to other states as well. Have a lok at their gorgeous parfaits (Chocolate Bananana pictured center) are gorgeous and come in miniature plastic stems and are available in 5 sophisticated concoctions like the Cassata - chocolate studded ricotta cream, fresh orange and crunchy biscotti garnished with chopped pistachios or the Chocolate Banana - bananas soaked in a spiced caramel-rum sauce, graham crackers and vanilla bean marshmallow cream, topped with chocolate whipped cream and toasted marshmallow. $24 for a box of 9.
For wedding favors, check out their special offerings. I just adore their Silver Box of Lovelies favors, the silver plated hammer boxes are truly beautiful and the shortbread cookies in them are divine. For your next barbecue, the Marshkabobs are a must! These individually packaged skewers of three marshmallows - vanilla, chocolate and your choice of Raspberry or Mango would make lovely favors; put out a plate of graham crackers and chopped chocolate and let your guests create some sophisticated smores. Outdoor grill-deprived city slickers, give out these kebabs for some post-dinner hot cocoa sampling fun (check out Marie Belle for a slew of hot cocoa mix).

Stumble It!
