I think it's such a shame when a couple puts so much into finding the right invitations only to smack some pink or purple mismatching Love Dove stamps on them.

If there is DIY-ing I would suggest all brides take part in, it would be to create personalized stamps on Zazzle (unless of course, you have the time and resources to buy a bunch of fabulous vintage stamps from ebay). It's pretty easy, not to mention, loads of fun, to design these personalized stamps - the website offers three sizes that can be printed horizontally or vertically and the stamps can be ordered in 7 different denominations, perfect for heavy stock invitations and square envelopes.

Minimalist bride? Create a monogram with your wedding or invitation colors (there are over 300 fonts to choose from). Sentimental bride? Find the most journalistic (as in, least posed) photo of the two of you and turn it black and white or sepia toned. Detail-Oriented Bride? Design a different stamp for your save-the-dates, invitations and Thank You cards. OCD bride? Ask your invitation designer if you can have a jpeg of the special motif or monogram that's been designed for your wedding stationery; all you have to do is upload the file onto Zazzle's site like you would a photo.

For my save-the-dates, I did a simple monogram since my cards were high on graphics and I also had pattern-lined envelopes:

For my invitations, I took a photo of the cross-street of my wedding venue (My theme was Vintage NY - and my tables were named after cross-streets of places in NYC that are meaningful to the groom and me):

For my Thank You cards, I was inspired by a rubber stamp I saw at Kate's Paperie:
