By the book....Or not

Wedding guest books can be really boring. Instead, try laying out Cavallini's beautiful vintage postcards near a sign that instructs guests to leave wishes for the couple. Each set comes in a tin and includes 18 assorted postcards for $12.99. Themes include Birds, Butterflies, Vintage Maps, and Old World-Paris Travel prints.
For my Vintage-NYC themed wedding, I used a set that includes NewYork travel-inspired postcards. Some of my creative guests chose the New York Map postcard and plotted points on locations they knew were important to my husband and me. As a bonus, we received some really long and thought-out wishes and greetings from our guests...something that might not have happened if we left out a traditional guest book. Yes, I'll admit it, I am guilty of scribbling a short "congrats" next to my name in many a wedding guest books.
To keep things neat, place a glass vase or canister nearby for guests to drop their notes in. If you're wedding has a theme, like "love birds" put the sort-of-tired birdcage to new use as a container for these pretty greetings; if your theme is "travel" purchase a small vintage suitcase or chest and stick a few Cavallini Bon Voyage Labels on it...you get the gist.
The postcards can be stored back in the tin after your event but even better, place them in a wedding scrapbook.
