You Shouldn't Have!
Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at 08:47AM Feeling so grateful to have had a wonderful first year of marriage, to have Modern Vintage to help me share my love for all things that have to do with celebrating life, and friends and family who have shown Jay and me so much love especially on our anniversary yesterday... I want to share some of the amazing gifts that Jay and I have received - and hope some of you out there who are shopping for unique wedding gifts off the registry may find some inspiration here!
Of course, we love everything we've received from ALL our friends and family - these are just a couple gifts that I thought would be interesting for MV - here they are!

First, there's the awesome keepsake box from my dear friend Happy, crafts queen extraordinaire (who is also blessed with really cool handwriting). She downloaded some of my photos from Flickr and attached little bits of the lyrics of our (Jay and myself) song - 100 years by Five For Fighting all over the interior of the box. When the top is removed, the four sides fold out to reveal a mini-photo-flipbook! The box now houses one of my favorite wedding-day keepsakes, a "kissing bell." Second up, better very late than never (wink wink), my usually fashionably-late pal, Silvia (whose fabulous mother works at Two's Company, the company behind Mindy Weiss's gorgeous wedding essentials) ordered a gorgeous custom Tiffanny's sterling silver plaque of my wedding invitations for me! We have this up on display with some of my wedding photos now. I think I melted when I opened this one - it really brings me back to the days I was planning my wedding and working with my invitation designer (Cheree Berry)...ah...what fond memories! Last and latest gift... an anniversary card (that came with a gift card for Fish's Eddy - one of my most favorite stores on earth!) from my maid-of-honor and co-designer of my wedding favor tags (see instructions and photos of my "thank you" tags towards the end of this posting). This adorable handmade card is so preppy and chic - so very Monty... and how fabulous is the detail of the mini brads holding the thin ribbon stretching across the card? I just adore it!
There were so many other wonderful gifts, I can go on forever... I hope these crafty and unique ones were fun to read about!
xoxo WKP
